Nov 15, 2019
KAAT has won the competition for Iztuzu Visitors' Center Architectural Design Competition in Mugla, Turkey.
To carry Iztuzu Beach and Dalyan wetland ecosystem to the future which is one of the rare areas of the world, the aim of the competition, organized by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, is to achieve a project that will produce a negative carbon footprint of the DEKAMER (Sea Turtle Research, Rescue and Rehabilitation Center) campus and its environment.
The KAAT, selected among 83 projects participating in the competition, was awarded the first prize due to its suggestion of derivable amorphous texture that fills the gaps created by trees, fluidity created with nature, and consistency in scale, geometry, and material choices.
